Doug & Kristin Meeker

Doug and Kristin Meeker – After making their first trip to Ski Paradise in 1998, Doug and Kristin fell in love with Acapulco and have returned year after year with friends and family. After 5 years of being a guest, Gordon asked Doug and Kristin to return as coaches, and for the last 20 years they have returned to share their love and passion for waterskiing. Doug currently operates The Liquid Edge, a Mastercraft and Nautique dealership with a ski school in Farmer City, Il. When not working in the shop, Doug is coaching skiers from across the Midwest. The Meeker kids are never far away as they share the same love for skiing as Doug and Kristin. Ty age 17 and Kayla age 11 are both slalom addicts and both are nationally ranked. The kids have been known to show up in Acapulco from year to year, and it is rumored that Ty is starting to petition for his own coaching spot.

Doug promotes Ski Paradise as luxury vacation where waterskiing is the focus, not the requirement. For the slalom junkie, he is all in and will ski as hard as you want to ski. But for the others it is about facilitating an unforgettable week on and off the water. The Meekers have built their life, lifestyle, and family around the lake and truly are helping to keep skiing alive.
